He made this known at the launch of 5G in Ghana on November 1, 2024.
To the President, with speeds up to 100 times faster than 4G, 5G is set to revolutionize sectors like health, agriculture, and education, enabling real-time consultations, precision farming, and access to quality education across the nation.
The President indicated that Ghana’s Digital Transformation Agenda envisions a Ghana where digital technology empowers every citizen, creating jobs, driving economic growth, and fostering global competitiveness.
On Friday, 1st November 2024, I had the honour of launching 5G technology in Ghana, marking a pivotal milestone in our nation’s journey towards a digitally empowered future. This launch represents more than just high-speed internet—it is a game-changer that will shape how we live, work, and innovate across every sector. With speeds up to 100 times faster than 4G, 5G is set to revolutionize sectors like health, agriculture, and education, enabling real-time consultations, precision farming, and access to quality education across the nation.
Our Digital Transformation Agenda envisions a Ghana where digital technology empowers every citizen, creating jobs, driving economic growth, and fostering global competitiveness. As part of this agenda, we have invested significantly in digital infrastructure, national identification systems, and mobile interoperability to support an inclusive digital ecosystem. Today, with the power of 5G, Ghana stands ready to embrace advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, bringing connectivity and innovation to urban centers and rural communities alike.
This achievement would not have been possible without strong partnerships between the government, telecom providers, and the tech community. Moving forward, we are committed to ensuring that the benefits of 5G reach all Ghanaians. Together, let us harness the power of 5G to build a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous future for Ghana. May this launch mark the beginning of a new digital era, unlocking opportunities and driving progress for generations to come.
