2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers: I don’t want to repeat myself on Andre Ayew’s omission – Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has said he will not repeat himself on the exclusion of Andre Ayew from his Black Stars squad for next month’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.He made this comment during the squad announcement on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the GFA Headquarters in Accra.This is the second time in a row that the Black Stars captain will not be included in the squad after he was also omitted from the team that won against Mali and the Central African Republic.The former Borussia Dortmund talent coach said the younger players did well and he has chosen to continue with them but said the door is not closed to Andre Ayew.“We did quite well playing young players, and I know it will get tough. I don't want to explain myself why Andre is not here,” Otto Addo told the press.Ghana will face Angola in Kumasi on Thursday, September 5 before taking on Niger four days later in Morocco.
