Ghana’s Black Stars are now targeting their first win of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Niger when the two teams faceoff in Morocco.The match will be held at the Stade Municipal de Berkane on Monday, September 9, 2024. The game will be played in Morocco because Niger does not have an approved stadium by the Confederation of African Football.This follows the Black Stars’ 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in their opening qualifier.Milson, who came off the bench, scored the only goal for the Palancras Negras, thwarting Ghanaian hopes.Niger, meanwhile, also suffered a 1-0 loss to Sudan at the Juba Stadium in South Sudan on Wednesday.Sudan and Angola lead the group with three points each, while Ghana and Niger are yet to score after one game each.The loss to Angola marks Otto Addo’s first competitive defeat in his second stint as Ghana coach, following back-to-back wins against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers this June.
