Hasaacas Ladies Assistant Coach Emmanuel Mensah has confirmed that his team has secured replacements for Mukarama Abdulai and other key players who will miss the 2024 WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

Mukarama, who netted eleven goals in their Women’s Premier League-winning campaign, is sidelined due to injury.

Additionally, three players have been called up to the Ghana U20 women’s national team, which is preparing for the 2024 U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia later this month.

Hasaacas Ladies will begin their WAFU B qualifying campaign today, Sunday, against Burkinabe side Omnisports Etincelle at the Stade de la Paix de Bouaké in Côte d’Ivoire.

“There are no doubts they are quality players; they are top-notch players. But we have come very far—very, very far,” Mensah said.

“Now that we are in the competition phase, we must face the reality: Mukarama is not playing, and we don't have Abiba or other players like Vero.

“We have found their replacements and have worked diligently on this. We have played competitive friendly matches to address the issues.

“I don’t doubt their quality, but the team has moved beyond that, and we are ready to battle.”

After missing the last two tournaments, Hasaacas Ladies aim to win this edition and secure a spot in the main event, following their second-place finish in the inaugural 2021 edition.
