Ghanaian musician, Rex Omar has said the Electoral Commission’s (EC) refusal to do a forensic audit of the voters’ register proves that they are hiding something.
The staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said the appointment of some New Patriotic Party (NPP) cardbearing members into the EC shows they’re bent on rigging the elections.
“The Electoral Commission has illegally transferred the names of some people and so we said they should allow an independent body to do a forensic audit,” he said on Cape Coast’s Property FM.
“So that after the elections there won’t be any violence and we all will accept the results in good faith but they have vowed that they won’t allow it.
“We have witnessed here in Ghana that Akufo-Addo has recruited card-bearing NPP members into the Electoral Commission including Bossman Asare which we all know.
“What are they hiding at the electoral commission that they don’t want to do the forensic audit and what underhand dealings are they conniving with NPP”, he fumed.
