Jordan Ayew is determined to lead Leicester City to their first Premier League victory of the season as they prepare to face Aston Villa.

The Foxes have struggled in their opening games, drawing 1-1 with Tottenham and losing 2-1 to Fulham last weekend. However, they bounced back with a convincing 4-0 win over Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, with Ayew scoring his debut goal for the club.

Ahead of their match at the King Power Stadium, Ayew is urging his teammates to secure their first three points of the season against Unai Emery's Villa.

"It’s important for our confidence to go into Saturday's game on a high because it’s a big match for us. The most crucial thing is winning on Saturday, and I’m really excited for it," Ayew told the club's website.

He added, “I’m staying humble. My focus is on supporting the team and the manager. Whether I start or not is secondary. What matters most is getting the win because we need those points.”

Ayew acknowledged the challenge ahead, noting, “Aston Villa isn’t the same team as it was four years ago; they are now a top-six team. It’s going to be a tough game, but we’re ready for it. This is the Premier League.”

Ayew, who joined Leicester City on a two-year contract from Crystal Palace, has also been selected for Ghana's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
