Central Region NDC footsoldiers express gratitude to Mahama

The Central Regional footsoldiers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have assured President John Dramani Mahama that the people of the Central Region, particularly traditional authorities, remain deeply grateful for selecting Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate.

This decision led to her becoming Ghana’s first female Vice President.

The group also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to President Mahama for nominating Mr. Ekow Panyin Adumoah as the Central Regional Minister and appointing the Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, as Finance Minister.

Speaking on behalf of all 23 constituency organizers, Mr. Joseph Kojo Mensah, Organizer for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency, commended the president for appointing Felix Ofosu-Kwakye as Acting Spokesperson to the President and Nana Ama Browne Klutse as the CEO of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Mr. Kojo Mensah emphasized the enduring gratitude of Central Regional NDC foot soldiers for the opportunities granted to these sons and daughters of the region to serve in the current administration.

He acknowledged that although the Central Region lags in infrastructural development, he strongly believes that with the appointment of these distinguished ministers, they will advocate for the region to receive its fair share of the national development agenda.

Mr. Kojo Mensah also appealed to Vice President Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang and the other ministers-designate from the region to prioritize key projects, including reviving the Komenda Sugar Factory, operationalizing the Fisheries University at Anomabo, enhancing the Fish Processing Plant at Elmina—recognized as the second largest in West Africa—and supporting the Nursing and Teacher Training Colleges at Ajumako Biseasi.

He asserted that the successful execution of these initiatives would provide much-needed employment opportunities for the youth in the region, addressing the pressing issue of joblessness.
