Reports indicate that Hon. Mahama Ayariga, who represents the people of Bawku Central, will be replacing Cassiel Ato Forson, PhD, as the leader of the majority side in Parliament.
This comes after Parliament’s approval of Ato Forson as the finance minister of Ghana.
The decision to choose Mahama Ayariga as leader of the majority side in Parliament is a move to strengthen the front of the Majority in Parliament, considering his experience in the house as a legislator.
Cape Coast South MP Kweku Ricketts-Hagan is expected to take over from Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah who has been named as the Lands and Natural Resources Minister.
Other changes include Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor who represents the people of South Dayi who is expected to be the Majority Chief whip and Ada MP Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah is likely to be elevated to First Deputy Whip.
The reshuffle is to allow for the Majority in Parliament to strengthen its front considering the demands of governance and to ensure effective parliamentary oversight and governance.
