Veteran Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress Onyeka Onwenu has passed away at the age of 72.
A video of her last performance before her untimely death has surfaced on social media.
The beloved artist reportedly collapsed after performing at a birthday party for Stella Okoli on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Despite being rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos, she unfortunately did not survive.
An eyewitness at the event shared with the press, “It is very sad. Onyeka Onwenu had just performed at Mrs. Stella Okoli’s birthday party and collapsed afterward. She was taken to Reddington Hospital, but sadly, she didn’t make it.”
