Veteran coach JE Sarpong has voiced his concerns over the Black Stars’ lackluster performances in their recent 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.Speaking to Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com, Sarpong expressed frustration with the team’s attitude, highlighting that there was no competitive spirit."We have played football here against Angola, still everybody said the park wasn’t good... But our team is not competitive; our team feels that we are playing friendly matches,” Sarpong stated.He criticized the team’s poor approach during the 1-0 defeat against Angola at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium and the subsequent 1-1 draw with Niger in Morocco, saying, "No game plan, no tactical approach... the planning that we use to build the Black Stars is not going well."Sarpong emphasized the need for better team selection, urging the technical team to incorporate more local players hungry for success."Why don’t we do mix-up? Why don’t you pull a few local players who are hungry for success?” he asked, calling for a change in strategy moving forward.
