This Will Be One of the Most Keenly Contested Elections – Agyeman-Duah

Professor Agyeman-Duah, co-founder of the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), has described today’s elections as one of the most intriguing in recent history despite the widespread desire for change.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Election Morning program, Professor Agyeman-Duah noted the difficulty in predicting the number of votes the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would secure, particularly in the Northern Region.

He emphasized the unique dynamic of both presidential candidates being natives of the North.

However, he highlighted that results from the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions—the two largest electoral regions—could surprise many Ghanaians, as these areas may strongly reflect the public’s appetite for change.

“Overall, I believe this will be one of the most closely contested elections, despite what seems to be a prevailing call for change among Ghanaians.

In many people’s minds, these two factors will significantly influence their decision on where to cast their vote,” Professor Agyeman-Duah stated.
