The Management, staff and students of the Savannah College of Education in Daboya in the Savannah Region have denied reports that some of its students were involved in the burning of flags and placards belonging to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the visit of the NPP flagbearer, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to the college earlier this week.
The college, which described the act as barbaric, stressed that the incident did not happen on their campus and that their students or members of staff were not involved whatsoever in the act.
“We want to put on record that no such incident took place on the campuses of Savannah College of Education and no student of the college community was part of the barbaric act that was perpetrated on the said day. The college community is not aware of the act and categorically distances the college community from the act. It is worthy of note that no school building or student was seen in the video,” a rejoinder signed by the Acting College Secretary, Muftawu Kola Fasasi said.
The college expressed gratitude to the Vice President for visiting the college and for his previous generous donations to the college
