Tamale-based controversial Radio Presenter, Halik Musah popularly known to the local people as DJ Tell, has rendered an unqualified apology to the Sagnarigu parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Attah Issah, for defaming him on social media.
The NDC Sagnarigu candidate asked the Radio Presenter to either apologize for his defamed comments against him or face legal action.
“My lawyers have issued a formal notice to you regarding the defamatory comment you made against me and the NDC party on social media. We demand that you retract this statement and issue a public apology within 48 hours. Failure to comply with this demand will result in further legal action.”
In a Facebook post, the Radio Presenter who was given 48 Hours to retract his comments wrote “I received a phone call from Chairman “Commander “NDC Constituency Chairman of the Sagnarigu constituency regarding the assault against me leading to the vandalization of my car. Chairman said he was directed by his party candidate Hon. Atta Issah to inform me that his candidate Hon. Attah Issah’s has no knowledge of the act and advised me to apologize to Hon. Attah Issah. As our Culture demands, I promise to adhere to the Chairman’s advise and by this post wish to apologize to Hon. Attah Issah and anyone directly affected by my post on Facebook.”
According to him, he has reported the attack on him to the police and that the case is currently under investigation.
“This notwithstanding, the barbaric act of the NDC thugs against me is under investigation and I will do everything to ensure they are brought to book. No Attack by anybody will stop me from expressing my Constitutional Right to Free Speech and Expression.”
He thanked his supporters for empathizing with him during the attack.
“For the thousands of persons who empathized with me during this time of attack, I am sincerely grateful. I wish to reiterate my commitment to enhancing our democracy by remaining resolute, telling true to power, and expressing my constitutional rights without fear of intimidation and/or victimization by ANYBODY.”
