Retrieve Busia’s seat from the wrong hands: Prof Ameyaw-Akumfi Rallies Wenchi NPP

Former Minister of Ports and Harbors, Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, has made an impassioned call to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Wenchi Constituency of the Bono Region, urging them to intensify efforts to reclaim the parliamentary seat lost in the last election.

Speaking at a meeting with polling station executives in Akrobi, the birthplace of Prof K.A. Busia, the professor emphasized the importance of unity and diligence as the party gears up for the upcoming elections.

“We cannot afford to lose this seat again,” he declared. “This is a stronghold of the NPP and the legacy of great leaders like Prof K.A. Busia. It is our duty to honour that legacy by ensuring victory this time around.”

The meeting, which brought together polling station executives, constituency executives, council of elders, and patrons, was a strategic gathering to bolster the party’s grassroots machinery. Prof Ameyaw-Akumfi did not mince words as he reminded the attendees of the critical role they play in mobilizing voters.

“It starts with you. Your hard work, your commitment to canvassing every neighbourhood, and ensuring that people not only support our candidate but also show up on Election Day will make the difference,” he said, urging them to “go the extra mile.”

The professor also underscored the need for intensified campaigning as the election draws closer. He charged the executives to leverage every opportunity to engage with constituents, address their concerns, and rally support for the party.

As a show of support, Prof Ameyaw-Akumfi made a cash donation to aid the efforts of the polling station executives. “This is not just about words; we are backing it with action. Use these resources wisely to ensure our message reaches every corner of this constituency,” he added.

Present at the gathering were key figures, including the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Wenchi Constituency, Kolo Frimpong, and other constituency executives, alongside members of the council of elders and patrons.

Prof Ameyaw-Akumfi was accompanied by Hon. Peter Mensah, former District Chief Executive(DCE) of Techiman North, and Mr. Isaac Sarpong, an aide to the Bono East Regional Minister.
