Legendary musician, composer, and producer Quincy Jones passed away from pancreatic cancer, as confirmed by his death certificate.
Acquired by CNN on Wednesday, the certificate indicated no other contributing factors but stated that he had been living with cancer for several years. Jones died on 3 November at the age of 91.
A private funeral was held for the music icon earlier this week, with plans for a larger memorial in the works, according to the Associated Press.
Known for his collaborations with artists like Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Jackson, Jones died at his home in Bel Air, California, surrounded by his children, siblings, and other family members, as reported by his publicist earlier this month.
The renowned jazz and pop musician Jones was also a prolific cross-genre arranger, conductor, record label executive and civil rights advocate.
