Reports indicate that the police will deploy over 5000 men to the old Electoral Commission building where the recollation of some constituencies that were illegally collated in the December 7, 2024 elections will take place.
This follows an order from a High Court in Accra on Friday, December 20, that the Electoral Commission must recollate the votes of Nsawam Adoagyir with the police providing adequate security for the process.
The EC Chair’s Press Conference on Friday, December 20, explained that some declarations made were illegal and will have to be recollated.
Among the constituencies to be recollated are Ablekuma North, Nsawam Adoagyir and other disputed constituencies.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has filed a process at the Supreme Court for a Stay of Execution and has submitted the same to the Ghana Police Service.
