PMMC boss advocates for establishment of African Gold Producers Association

The managing director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Nana Akwasi Awuah is advocating for the establishment of an African Gold Producers Association.

Awuah argues such an association will be pivotal in sharing ideas and challenges that African gold producers face.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday (27 September), Awuah said the establishment of the association will be strategic.

”… I told them that it’s about time we looked at how we can model a structure like the Kimberly Process for gold.

” And if we can have an African Gold Producers Association [just like] we have an African Diamond Producers Association which is a block within the Kimberly Process.”
