A member of Operation Recover All Loot, Martin Kpebu, who has described as ridiculous, claims that they are spying on the residence of Afenyo Markin with drones.
The Minority leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin in an interview with Accra-based Joy News disclosed that he has seen that ORAL is spying on his properties in Accra and Winneba.
“Meanwhile, I was aware that these ORAL guys have been flying drones in Winneba over my property. I kept quiet. I managed it. They went to my beachfront property, mounted a drone, and flew it from the community center near the ‘nshorna.’ My boy saw it. I told them to ignore it,” he said.
“In Abelenkpe, you’ll be there in the morning and you’ll see drones flying. The policemen have seen it. They told me, but I said ignore it. Sometimes, early in the morning, we see drones behind the rail line, and I know they are spying on my house. What business do drones have at the Minority Leader’s residence?” he questioned.
But speaking to Accra-based Citi News, Martin Kpebu indicated that the ORAL Team does not own drones and has not commissioned any third party to fly drones in order to spy on the houses of some politicians.
“It is false. The ORAL committee has not sent any drones to spy on the Minority Leader’s properties—it is not true at all. Looking at the members of the team, you can hazard that the committee will not do something ridiculous like that, so let’s disregard it. We do not own any drones as a committee at all,” Kpebu told Citi News.
“We do not have any members aside from the committee members working for us. Since it is a democracy, claims like that are made for strategic reasons,” he added.
The ORAL Team was set up by John Dramani Mahama to collect information on corruption-related issues, which will be worked on by the Attorney General.
During his swearing-in, the Attorney General indicated that he will meet with the team to collect the data they have gathered which will be worked on by his office.
