Nkwanta South: Jasikan Diocesan youth council condemns attack on Catholic priests

The violent attack on Catholic priests in Nkwanta on 11 December 2024 has been strongly denounced by the Jasikan Diocesan Youth Council (JADYC).

The Kpassa Catholic Church priests were involved in the regrettable incident.

In a press statement, JADYC called for swift action to bring the attackers to justice and called the attack a “senseless act of brutality.”

The Council emphasised the Catholic Church’s role as a “beacon of peace, love, and compassion” while expressing profound worry and concern over the incident by attacking a clergy member.

“We urge the authorities to take action to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, particularly the clergy.”

The public has also been urged to maintain composure and refrain from enforcing the law themselves.

They also emphasised the need for everyone to live in harmony and coexistence and urged the National Peace Council to ensure a peaceful resolution.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire Catholic community in Ghana.
