Nduom Proposes Revival of GN Bank to Bolster Ghana’s Economy

Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, founder of the GN Group and GN Bank, has outlined measures to revive Ghana’s struggling economy, emphasizing the need to restore GN Bank and other defunct financial institutions.

Speaking passionately on the matter, Dr Nduom stated, “Ghana’s economy will not improve unless GN Bank and some of the other banks are revived.

I believe any presidential candidate, regardless of party affiliation—be it CPP, PPP, NDC, NPP, or otherwise—who truly prioritizes Ghana’s interests will ensure these banks are brought back.”

According to Dr Nduom, the reinstatement of the GN Bank would not only rejuvenate the economy but also restore thousands of lost jobs, providing a significant boost to the nation.

He reiterated his support for any candidate who commits to reinstating GN Bank, declaring, “I will wholeheartedly support anyone who promises to revive GN Bank, as it is a step towards restoring economic stability.”

Dr Nduom made these comments during a demonstration in Elmina, where he led former GN Bank employees and local residents in a march through the principal streets. The demonstration aimed to urge the government to reconsider the revocation of GN Bank’s license.

He stated, “We want every Ghanaian to know that we have taken this campaign across the country, and we are ending the ‘Bring Back GN Bank’ movement here in Elmina, where the bank had its roots. Let me assure everyone that GN Bank will surely return.”

Dr. Nduom also called on former employees of GN Bank and the residents of Elmina to reject the current government in the upcoming general elections and support a presidential candidate committed to reinstating GN Bank’s license.

He added, “If there is a political party willing to restore GN Bank’s license, I urge former employees and all those advocating for the bank’s return to vote for that party. Several candidates have assured us that, once elected, they will ensure the bank’s license is reinstated.”

Dr Nduom strongly criticized the decision to revoke GN Bank’s license, asserting that it was unwarranted.

“Those who revoked GN Bank’s license know we did nothing to justify that action. However, they lack the courage to admit their mistake. I am confident that the next administration will rectify this and return our license,” he stated.

Highlighting the widespread impact of GN Bank, Dr. Nduom noted that no other bank had reached as many communities in Ghana as GN Bank.

He concluded, “Ghanaians are ready for GN Bank’s return. The bank’s absence has left a void, and people across the country are patiently waiting for its revival.”
