The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has said the running mate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as Napo is not “arrogant”.
Opoku Prempeh was last week unanimously endorsed as the running mate to the NPP Flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia by the National Executive Council of the NPP.
Speaking at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday (9 July) as part of the event to outdoor Dr Opoku Prempeh as the running mate to Dr Bawumia, Otumfuo said” I will pray for you to achieve what you want.”
“You [NAPO] are not arrogant. Don’t let what people say become true…” he added.
No regrets
The Asantehene further admonished Napo to remain loyal, listen and obey his boss.
“Don’t let Dr Bawumia regret selecting you as his running mate. Don’t ever left him regret that. Be humble and submissive to him.”
“Do only what he teaches you to do,” Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said.
The Asantehene also urged the presidential candidate of the NPP to train his running mate adding that “Train him [Napo] and when he goes wrong, tell me and I will advise him”.
