The deputy director general in charge of Quality and Access at the Ghana Education Service (GES) Kwabena B Tandoh has described the newly elected running mate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a servant leader.
This follows the National Council of the NPP’s confirmation of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, as the running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
President Akufo-Addo has officially endorsed the ticket of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressing unwavering confidence in their leadership capabilities ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The presidential candidate of the NPP, Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to introduce Napo as his running mate to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Wednesday (10 July) after his official outdooring in Kumasi on Tuesday (9 July).
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (8 July), Tandoh said Napo is brilliant and has amazing learning agility.
“The first thing that comes to mind when you hear or see Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is his brilliant mind and amazing learning agility.
“He is a charismatic leader, but because of my personal experience with him, working under him and for him, he is also very focused on being a servant leader,” he said.
Tandoh added, “He spends much time even though he led us, he was interested in what obstacles were in our way, be it work and resources related or sometimes even personal obstacles that will be in our way to deliver… “
