Nana Akomea shaped my political skills and success – Sammi Awuku revealed

Former National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Mr Samuel Awuku took a moment to express heartfelt gratitude to Nana Akomea, Managing Director of the State Transport Company(STC), acknowledging the significant impact his mentor had on his political development.

In an interview on Asaase Radio monitored by MyNewsGH.com, Awuku appreciated him for the lessons learned during his formative years within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the profound influence Akomea had on his career trajectory.

Awuku reminisced about his time working under Nana Akomea at the Communications Directorate of the NPP from 2011 to 2013, a period he describes as pivotal for honing his communication skills.

“Working as an assistant to Nana Akomea, who was the Director of Communications at the time, was invaluable,” Awuku stated. He credits this experience for shaping his ability to convey messages effectively, which has been crucial in his subsequent political roles.

His dedication and performance during those early years did not go unnoticed. In April 2014, Awuku was elected as the National Youth Organiser, a role that allowed him to further his influence within the party. He attributes much of this rapid rise to the lessons he learned under Akomea’s guidance, referring to him as the “Ranking.”

Awuku’s admiration for Akomea goes beyond personal appreciation; he highlights Akomea’s professionalism as a guiding light. “His unmatched professionalism inspired me to always prioritize work over personal matters,” he noted. This ethos has clearly resonated with Awuku as he navigates his political path.

Reflecting on his swift ascent in politics after completing his education, Awuku emphasized the importance of hard work. His commitment to diligence and perseverance has not only propelled him forward but has also garnered the attention of key figures in the government.

Appointed as the head of the National Lottery Authority by President Nana Akufo-Addo, Awuku is now tasked with enhancing the institution’s credibility and fostering public trust.

In his role, Awuku is keenly aware of the responsibility that comes with leadership. “I aim to uphold the integrity of the National Lottery Authority and ensure it operates with transparency,” he shared, expressing his commitment to restoring public confidence in the institution. His vision is clear: to create a lottery system that not only entertains but also contributes positively to society.
