Meet Gifty Omari-Mensah: First female non-expatriate scheduling engineer at Newmont

Mining firm, Newmont has appointed Gifty Omari-Mensah as the new senior scheduling engineer for its Subika underground Mine in Ahafo.

Omari-Mensah is the first female non-expatriate senior scheduling engineer and the first female manager with Subika Underground.

Over the years, she has showcased exceptional expertise including contributing to the drill and blast designs for the Subika Underground operation and the implementation of the sublevel shrinkage mining method as a Medium-Term Planning Engineer.

She demonstrated strong leadership in the Subika Growth Mine Design and championed the Mine Operating Plan for each level mined in Subika underground.
