MyNewsGh.com has learnt that interested candidates in the Mahyia South Seat have only 48 hours to file their nomination at the political party’s office.
Interested persons have until Tuesday, July 9 to file their forms.
The filing fee according to the political party is Ghc 17, 500.
However, women, youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive a 50 per cent rebate on the filing fees.
The form is, however, being sold at a non-refundable fee of GH₵3,000.00.
This comes after the sitting Member of Parliament Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh was selected as the running mate of the flagbearer for the political party.
The party indicated that the primary will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
“This means they will be required to pay a non-refundable filing fee of seventeen thousand and five hundred Ghana cedis (GH₵17,500.00),” the party said
According to reports, there are a number of New Patriotic Party members who are willing to occupy the seat.
