Kumasi is set to experience a profound spiritual awakening as it hosts the 2024 edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK).
This non-denominational event, rooted in Christian principles, aims to promote national cohesion, integration, and peace.
Since its inception three years ago in Nigeria, the GCK has attracted over 5 million attendees and facilitated thousands of conversions through the ministry of its Convener, Dr. William F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Christian community of Ghana.
Dubbed GCK-Ghana, the five-day crusade will focus on spreading the Gospel and strengthening the faith of believers in anticipation of the second advent of Christ. The National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministries in Ghana, Pastor Edward Duodu, emphasised the event’s significance in utilising technology and modern communication to reach millions globally with the message of hope and redemption.
“GCK is a powerful vehicle for realising the vision of spreading the gospel of Salvation. Making use of technology and modern communication channels to reach millions across the globe from an anchor location, GCK aims to reach every corner of the earth with the message of hope and redemption,” Pastor Duodu said.
Ghana, which has faced economic challenges in recent years, is predominantly a Christian nation. secretariat coordinator of the GCK in Ghana, Pastor E. Tumsiah, expressed confidence that the event would foster socioeconomic development, social adjustment, and political stability.
“We believe that Ghana has much more to gain in the transformation of our youth to chart a future course that is full of confidence to succeed, and a mindset tailored towards hard work and future greatness. If we desire socio-economic transformation, spiritual turnaround social adjustment political stability and national growth, we stand to gain a lot as a nation to succinctly embrace the national growth,” he stated.
Dr. Joyce Aryee, executive director of Salt and Light Ministries, echoed this optimism, highlighting the crusade’s potential to promote a cohesive and peaceful society.
“GCK has demonstrated its ability to be a tool for societal cohesion and integration for peace and conflict resolution. GCK has engaged political leaders and economic actors to map out the path for political independence, peace, and economic emancipation for nations and states, making it a platform for fostering national cohesion and peace,” Dr Aryee said.
The event will also offer youth empowerment opportunities in various professional fields, enhancing employment prospects.
The 2024 edition of the GCK, themed “Full Salvation and Total Healing through Christ,” is scheduled to take place from July 25 to July 30 at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
