The final funeral rites for the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu and Deputy Finance Minister, John Ampontuah Kumah comes off today.
The funeral arrangements, according to the family’s directives, will take place at Onwe, a suburb of Ejisu, where his one-week observation was also held.
Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah passed away suddenly on Thursday (7 March) at the age of 45, leaving behind a wife and six children.
Wave of sorrow
Relatives, sympathisers, and constituents gathered to witness the arrival of the late MP’s remains on Friday (17 May), a moment that evoked a wave of sorrow throughout the community.
The procession conveyed the remains to Ejisu and later to his Donaso residence.
President Akufo-Addo will lead a high-powered delegation to the Ashanti Region town to mourn the late lawmaker.
Funeral arrangements
– Laying in State: Saturday, 18 May 2024, at Onwie Roman Catholic School Park, starting at 5 am.
– Burial Service: Saturday, 18 May 2024, at Onwe Roman Catholic School Park, starting at 10 am.
– Interment: Saturday, 18 May 2024, at Aduapakye Royal Cemetery.
– Final Funeral Rites: Onwie Roman Catholic School Park, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, 18 May 2024.
– Thanksgiving Service: Sunday, 19 May 2024, at Onwe Roman Catholic School Park.
In the wake of his untimely demise, Kwabena Boateng emerged as the new Member of Parliament for Ejisu in a by-election.
