Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Abu Jinapor has taken over as stand-in Minister for Energy.
This comes after Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh resigned to concentrate on his new role as the running mate of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 election.
Abu Jinapor according to the President of Ghana, will exercise cabinet oversight responsibility at the Energy Ministry while the Minister of State for the Energy Ministry, Herbert Krapa oversees the day-to-day activities at the Ministry.
In a post announcing their short handover, Samuel Abu Jinapor said “Yesterday, Wednesday, 17th July, 2024, following the resignation of the outgoing Minister for Energy, and Running Mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, together with the Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, Hon. Herbert Krapa, and other officials of the Ministry, we undertook a brief handing over ceremony.
Under the distinguished leadership of President Akufo-Addo, Minister Krapa and I are committed to working together to realise the vision of the President for the energy sector”.
