Leader of the Liberal Party in Ghana, Kofi Akpaloo is of the view that prostitution which is an age old institution can’t be abolished.
Rather, lleaders in the country can help in minimising the number of ladies who are involved in the trade by creating more jobs.
He noted that most ladies involved in the trade are in there because of the unavailability of jobs.
“There is no way you can end prostitution. However, you can reduce the numbers. We need to create jobs because not all the girls in there are there because they want it. Some are there because they have no jobs but they have to survive,” he said on Accra-based Kingdom FM.
Akpaloo who is hopeful of leading Ghana after the December 7 elections indicated that he will work hard to ensure that these ladies are taken off the streets.
