Former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Samuel Opoku Nti beleives the club have recruited good players to clinch the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
The Porcupine Warriors had a challenging season last campaign and concluded the season at the 6th position with 49 points.
However, the club have recruited 12 players ahead of the new campaign and as part of their preparation ahead of the season, Kotoko stunned Hearts of Oak 2-1 in the maiden edition of the Democracy Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
With the Reds set to begin the campaign with an away trip to Karela United, Opoku Nti says he would be surprised should his former side not emerge as champions.
"I will be shocked if they (Asante Kotoko) don't win the league, given the team they have assembled," the former Ghana international told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
"These days, both individual talent and teamwork are crucial, sometimes the coach doesn't need to give orders, in those situations, you need players who are mature enough to step up and support the team when called upon, and I think that's what the current Kokoko team has.
"The additions Kotoko has made make me extremely happy, and if this pattern keeps up, it will be a turning point.
"Considering Kotoko's rivals, I'd be shocked if Kotoko do not win the league," he added.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will face Medeama SC on Friday, August 16 to officially inaugurate the newly built T&A Park.
