I was asked to pay $3,000 despite my loyalty to the NPP – Nana Oteatuoso

Nana Oteatuoso, a political analyst and staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), voiced his frustrations with Honourable Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, the Member of Parliament for Asante Mampong and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

Oteatuoso claimed that the actions of individuals like Ampratwum-Sarpong could jeopardize the NPP’s chances of retaining power in the upcoming elections.

“People like Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong are the reason the NPP is struggling to gain the trust of the people,” Oteatuoso declared. “If this continues, I can assure you, our chances of winning are slim,” he said in an interview with Kwame Tanko on Lawson TV/radio.

Oteatuoso did not mince words as he shared his personal grievances. According to him, despite years of loyalty and significant contributions to the party, including backing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the flagbearer race, he felt abandoned during a time of need.

Recounting his ordeal, he explained, “I was gravely ill and needed to travel abroad for urgent medical treatment.

All I required was a letterhead from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to secure a ten-day visa. But instead of assistance, what did I get? A demand for $3,000 from Honourable Ampratwum.”

“I have given so much to the NPP, yet this is how I’m treated. It’s not just unfair—it’s unacceptable,” Oteatuoso lamented, visibly aggrieved. He further vowed to take action against Ampratwum-Sarpong, stating, “I will confront him. This is not the end of the matter.”
