Abena Moet has clarified that she meant no harm when she previously questioned Nana Ama McBrown’s credibility as a television presenter.
Speaking on GHOne’s Toast show, Abena Moet revisited the issue, expressing her reservations about the veteran actress’s transition to hosting, a role she feels does not align with McBrown’s otherwise illustrious career.
“I didn’t insult her,” Abena clarified during the discussion. “I simply raised concerns about her competence in this new space. She’s a phenomenal actress, no doubt, but television presenting is a different ball game.”
Abena referenced McBrown’s popular shows, Cooking with McBrown and United Showbiz, aired on UTV.
While both programs garnered significant attention, she argued they fell short of establishing McBrown’s identity as a credible TV host.
“These shows didn’t showcase the depth one would expect from someone trying to build a solid portfolio in this field,” she explained. “Her presence as a presenter doesn’t carry the same weight as her acting roles.”
The debate on McBrown’s transition to television has been ongoing, fueled by her bold move from acting to hosting in a competitive media landscape.
