Hold me accountable – Samira Bawumia Promises Support for Creatives

The Second Lady of Ghana, Hajia Samira Bawumia, has reaffirmed her dedication to the creative arts industry, emphasizing her genuine passion for its growth and the well-being of its players.

Speaking at an event designed to outline her husband Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s vision as the NPP’s presidential candidate, Samira assured stakeholders of tangible action to address their pressing challenges if her husband ascends to the presidency.

Addressing an audience of creatives that included prominent actors and musicians, Samira made it clear that her commitment was not a fleeting campaign strategy.

“This is not just politics,” she said. “I truly believe in the power of the creative arts and its potential to transform lives. My concern is real, and my commitment is unwavering.”

Samira’s engagement with the creative arts sector is grounded in her appreciation of the industry’s role in shaping national identity, fostering economic growth, and inspiring cultural pride.

She promised to champion their needs at the highest levels, ensuring their voices are heard and their contributions are recognized as integral to national development.

“I want to be held accountable for every promise I make,” she said boldly. “If we do not deliver on our commitments to you, you have every right to question us. This is a partnership, and we must work together to build a thriving creative arts sector.”

Her comments were met with optimism, particularly given the sector’s history of underrepresentation and systemic neglect.
