Gospel musician, Grace Ashy born Grace Appiah-Kubi has revealed why most politicians in Ghana do not respect celebrities.
According to Grace Ashy, some celebrities frequently beg for financial aid from politicians, hence losing their respect.
During a one-on-one interview with Onua FM about her political career and her new association with the “Movement of Change” party of Alan Kyeremanteng, Grace Ashy stated that the constant begging from celebrities has made politicians lose respect for them.
“If you are an entertainer or a celebrity and you get closer to these politicians, the respect they give you is very low because they have the perception once a celebrity gets closer, they want to beg for financial assistance from them”.
If you are a gospel musician, you can’t hide behind covers if you are politically inclined. You can’t enjoy two cakes at the same time, it’s not done. So it’s either you stick to your career or focus on politics”, she advised.
