"Ghanaians will sympathize with us": Opoku Nti reflects on unrewarded sacrifices of 70s football stars
Asante Kotoko legend, Opoku Nti, has expressed that Ghanaians will sympathize with players who represented the country in the 1970s, given the lack of rewards despite their significant contributions on the field.Nti, a former CEO of Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko, revealed that the immense sacrifices made by players of that era often went unrecognized, leading some to vow never to play for Ghana again.In an interview with Peace FM, as monitored by Footballghana.com, Nti shared, "We that played years back 70s maybe 60s 70s coming the sacrifice was big if we are to sit down and say what we went through people will sympathize with us it is very clear,""It is not only the Cup we secured that we weren't honored that was the problem sometimes within the team when we travel allowances when we return will not be paid all of these things were there. Because of the love we had for our country we still sacrificed to go the extra mile to play for the nation," he added.
