English-born Ghanaian youngster Daniel Adu-Adjei scored his first goal of the season to secure Carlisle United's 1-0 win against Barrow in League 2 on Saturday afternoon.Adu-Adjei started the game at Brunton Park and played for 83 minutes, while English-born Ghanaian forward Emile Acquah featured for the opposition.Carlisle United began strongly, earning a corner within the first three minutes. Charlie Wyke held up the ball before finding Josh Vela, whose cross forced a Barrow defender to concede a corner. The deadlock was broken in the 35th minute when Adu-Adjei capitalized on Theo Vassell’s defensive error, stealing the ball and calmly finishing past Farman into the far corner.After the goal, United pushed for a second, with Ben Barclay narrowly missing an opportunity as the first half drew to a close. The second half started cautiously, with both teams searching for the next goal. Vela had United’s only notable attempt early in the second half, but his shot was easily gathered by Farman. In the 54th minute, Acquah came close for Barrow, but his header landed on top of the net.Adu-Adjei has now made two league appearances this season, scoring once.
