GFA only cares about money – Derek Boateng

Ex-Black Stars player, Derek Boateng has expressed disgust at the state of football in Ghana.

He blames the Ghana Football Association for relegating their core duty and focusing on only the monetary aspect of their job.

“The FA needs to wake up and do something because this is their job. They need to make sure that the fields are good for the players to play. The only thing they care about for me I will say it and say it again is money

To him, Black Stars players cannot be blamed for poor showing when they are not provided with quality pitches to play like their clubs do in Europe.

“We have players playing in Europe on a good field, they will come here and play on bad pitch and you expect them tp perform well and win games. If the win is not coming then it will be a problem. The FA people know what it means for a player to perform well. So you cannot tell me that Thomas Partey will play on Arsenal field. Look at how the field is, the training facility and everything and he will come to Ghana, I’m not asking for the same field in Arsenal but at least they should do it better.

If they care about Football they have to make sure those things are done before the players come because for me they cannot put pressure on any player that they are not playing well, 9t is coming from them. Football is played outside before we go to the pitch. It is so sad that we are in this situation right now. We don’yt have to be there. Ghana now have to find a field to play home games. We are too much for that FA need to wake up and do something about it,” he told TV3 in an interview.
