Brandon Thomas-Asante, says working with Coventry City assistant manager, George Boateng, can take him to the next level in his career.

The Ghana striker has joined the Sky Blues from fellow Championship side, West Brom in the ongoing summer transfer for an undisclosed fee.

Thomas Asante has reunited with the former Black Stars assistant coach at Coventry.

“Obviously, I was very familiar and George (Boateng) would come down to watch me for West Brom (wich Albion) doing some scouting work for Ghana during his time there so he was familiar…so when I saw that he was a coach here, knowing that he had a fondness for my game, it made sense and obviously he comes with the credentials he’s got through his playing career and coaching career," the 25-year-old said after making his Coventry City debut in a 2-1 loss to German side Werder Bremen in a preseason game.

“As well as working with the manager, definitely working with George is something that I feel like can give me the edge to take me to the next level," he added.

After scoring 12 goals and adding two assists in 43 games last season, Thomas-Asante flirted with a move to Hull City before joining Coventry City.

Having made his debut for Ghana against Central African Republic in June, Thomas-Asante will hope to return to the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger in September.
