Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, founder and executive chairman of the Africa Prosperity Network (APN), has condemned public reactions following the rumours regarding the health of Nana Bediatuo Asante, secretary to the president.
Responding on social media, Otchere-Darko described the disappointment some expressed upon learning that Asante was alive and recovering as “devilishly debased.”
He criticised the hatred driving such reactions, stating, “The hatred is deep and scary. To wish a fellow human being dead and be disappointed he is still alive is devilishly debased. Anger, says Aristotle, can be cured by time; but hatred cannot.”
Earlier, Otchere-Darko had dismissed the false reports of Asante’s death, urging those spreading the misinformation to stop. “Rumours will kill you long before your death. It is not true. Stop spreading falsehood!” he warned.
The Office of the President confirmed Bediatuo Asante’s stable condition in a statement released on Wednesday (2 October) by Eugene Arhin, director of communications.
The statement assured the public that Bediatuo Asante was responding well to treatment and recovering as expected. The office also requested ongoing prayers and support for him and his family during this difficult time.
