Socialite Efia Odo has questioned Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s credit system, which he wants to introduce in Ghana.
She is of the view that a majority of Ghanaian youth are unemployed and will not be creditworthy.
Therefore, these people cannot pay back items they may take on credit.
To her, the idea is not an intelligent one for Ghana until the issues around unemployment are dealt with.
“The average Ghanaian who isn’t employed will now have access to credit everything and later find himself in debt because he’s unemployed and can’t pay back. let’s not forget the interest rates when you don’t pay back in time. That’s just a fantastic idea!”
Dr. Bawumia has proposed a plan aimed at increasing mobile phone ownership among Ghanaians by making the devices more affordable through a structured payment system.
