The Energy Minister, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has resigned from the position.
This comes after he was selected to join Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to run for the presidency in the 2024 elections.
A statement from the Presidency indicated that the President had accepted his resignation.
In his absence, the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Abu Jinapor, and Hebert Krapa, who is the Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, will have the oversight duty of handling the Energy Ministry.
The two have been asked to liaise with Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to ensure that there is a smooth transition.
The President used the opportunity to thank Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh for his stellar performance as Minister under his administration.
