Damongo: Government delegation meets with Yagbonwura to intercede for Abu Jinapor

On Wednesday (24 July) a four-member government delegation met with Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I to request the lifting of the ban on MP for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor.

The ban, imposed on Sunday 21 July, prohibits Samuel Abu Jinapor from visiting or leading any government official to any palace in Gonjaland.

The delegation included the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Asamoah Boateng, the Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul, the Savannah Regional Minister, Saeed Muhazu Jibril and the Savannah regional chairman of NPP, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana.

The purpose of the visit was to intercede on behalf of the Damongo Member of Parliament, Samuel Abu Jinapor, over the ban by Yagbonwura from accessing any palace in the Gonjaland traditional area and to plead for the Gonja King to forgive the Damongo MP.

The delegation held a closed-door meeting with the Yagbonwura and his elders at his residence in Damongo.
