Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) Limited has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art laboratory at the Larteh Health Centre in the Eastern Region.

This initiative, part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, underscores its dedication to enhancing the well-being of the Larteh community.

CBG’s managing director, Daniel Wilson Addo, emphasised the bank’s belief in the power of community and its role in supporting community development and sustainability. “Our CSR initiatives focus on health, community development, and education,” Addo explained.

“By aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we address crucial areas that promote progress and well-being.”

The newly established laboratory will address a significant gap in local healthcare. Previously, patients had to travel to Mampong for lab tests, which was both inconvenient and costly. The new facility will provide timely and accurate medical care without the need for long-distance travel.

Regina Akweley Klutse, deputy director of Nursing and Midwifery Services at Akuapim North Health Directorate, expressed her gratitude for the contribution, noting its crucial role in improving healthcare delivery.

“Larteh Health Centre now leads in having a laboratory facility among our four health centres in the municipality,” she said.

“This intervention, along with the necessary equipment, will significantly enhance the services provided at the Health Centre.”

Klutse also requested the addition of a theatre and residential accommodation for staff to further improve the health services offered. The chiefs and residents of Larteh also extended their thanks to CBG for its commitment to advancing healthcare in their community.
