CAF appoints referees for Ghana vs Sudan double header

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Patrice Milazar from Mauritius as the referee for Ghana’s upcoming 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan.

Milazar, 38, will officiate the Matchday 3 fixture at Accra Sports Stadium on Friday (11 October), with kick-off set for 4 PM GMT. 

He will be assisted by Souru Phatsoane from Lesotho (Assistant Referee I), alongside Jean Marc Jeff Pithia (Assistant Referee II) and Ganesh Chutooree (Fourth Official), both from Mauritius.

Sekou Wieh Konneh of Liberia has been appointed as the match commissioner, while Bechir Hassani from Tunisia will serve as the referee assessor. Okey Sylvanus Sylvanus Obi from Nigeria will oversee security for the match.

For the return leg, scheduled for Monday (14 October), at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Libya, Tunisian referee Mehrez Melki Elki will take charge of the Matchday 4 qualifier.

Elki, 37, will be assisted by Khalil Hassani (Assistant Referee I), Aymen Ismail (Assistant Referee II), and Mohamed Yousri Bouali (Fourth Official), all from Tunisia.

Yacoub Ali Elmi from Djibouti will act as match commissioner for the second leg, with Chad’s Waldabet Koissoual serving as the referee assessor. Libya’s Mohamed Gremida will handle security.

Kick-off for the reverse fixture is set for 1 PM GMT at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benina, Libya.
