Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has described astroturf pitches being put up by the current government as two-by-four stadiums.
According to him, as president, he will put up world-class stadiums, especially in the Upper East Region.
He believes that talent abounds in the region and providing them with the needed infrastructure will help make their talent to be discovered.
The former president was speaking in the Upper East Region when he made this known.
“Before this can happen, including a modern sports stadium for Bolgatanga, because in sports you can create jobs. We have a lot of talents here. We have the young Michael Essiens here, we have the young Azumah Nelsons here, and we have the young athletes here.
We must have a modern stadium where they can practice and realize their full potential. I am not talking about the two-by-four stadiums they are building in other places, we are talking about a modern sports stadium with all the facilities, ” he told a cheering crowd in B
