In an innovative move to engage directly with Ghanaians ahead of the December 7 elections, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched a call center. This initiative allows him to personally reach out to citizens and encourage their support for his candidacy.
In a recent video broadcast by UTV, Dr. Bawumia was captured at a desk, diligently engaging in phone conversations with voters. During one notable exchange, he introduced himself to an assemblyman on the other end of the line.
“Hello, this is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he said, setting the tone for an encouraging conversation. The assemblyman, clearly enthusiastic about the call, listened intently as Bawumia laid out his vision for the country.
Speaking in Twi, Dr. Bawumia emphasized, “I need your support to strengthen the NPP. Together, we can implement policies that will benefit assembly members and the entire nation.” He outlined his plans, including the introduction of a Common Fund specifically designated for assembly members to support their initiatives.
As the conversation progressed, the caller suddenly realized he was speaking with the presidential candidate. “Wait, is this really you, Dr. Bawumia?” he exclaimed, his excitement palpable. The revelation elicited laughter from Bawumia, who enjoyed the moment of connection with a voter.
Dr. Bawumia also highlighted his commitment to supporting local businesses, promising, “We will provide loans to traders to help them grow their enterprises.” His dedication to economic empowerment resonated through the phone line, as he sought to inspire confidence in his leadership.
Through this personal outreach initiative, Dr. Bawumia aims to create a more intimate connection with voters, illustrating his willingness to listen and respond to their needs as he campaigns for the presidency.
