Nigerian actor and stand-up comedian Okey Bakasi recently stirred up conversations on relationships during his guest appearance on the Honest Brunch podcast.

Bakasi provided more than just laughs, offering advice that has resonated with many listeners looking for genuine insights into healthy relationships.

“Don’t turn a blind eye to the little signs, because those little things tend to become big problems later on,” he said. “If you see something that bothers you, speak up. Don’t wait until you’re in too deep to realize it’s a problem.”

In a world where physical attraction often takes center stage in relationships, Bakasi highlighted another important aspect: the importance of intellectual compatibility.

“A lot of men, especially, are drawn to a woman’s looks. But it’s not enough,” Bakasi explained, getting serious. “Attractiveness may catch your attention, but it’s the intellect that keeps a relationship strong.”

He elaborated on the complex dynamics between men and women, noting that attractive women tend to attract specific types of men, often ones who are primarily interested in their physical appearance.

“It’s a cycle,” he said. “Some men see a beautiful woman and assume she’ll be a perfect partner just because of how she looks. But that’s not always the case.

“Not every beautiful woman is right for every man. Looks fade, but intellect and emotional compatibility are what keep a relationship going long-term.”
