Bawumia and Napo ticket superior choice to guarantee next phase of Ghana’s development, says Naa Torshie

The administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, has said the Bawumia and Opoku Prempeh ticket is a superior choice that can guarantee the next phase of Ghana’s development.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday ( 5 July), she said, “I don’t want to sound biased but I think the future of this country lies with the NPP when it comes to development and taking this country forward.”

“I don’t think there is an alternative and Mahamudu Bawumia is a gem, we need to look at not just the party, but the personality that is leading,” she told host Kwaku Nhyira-Addo.

She added, “… And if you want to compare, we have John Mahama and Mahamudu Bawumia and with the two, I can assure you, not because I am a member of the NPP, but the person who can take us to the next phase of development is Bawumia.”

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unanimously approved Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as “Napo”, as the running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday (4 July), the general secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said: “I am happy to report that after the necessary consideration, the National Council of the party unanimously endorsed the presidential candidate’s nomination of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Member of Parliament for Manhyia South and Energy Minister, as his vice-presidential candidate pursuant to Article 13(3) of the party constitution.
