Asebu chief lauds Bawumia-Napo ticket, praises NPP for developmental projects in Central Region

Okatakyie Prof Amanfi VII, the paramount chief of the Asebu Traditional Area in the Central Region, has praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for selecting Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as their 2024 presidential ticket, calling it the perfect choice for Ghana.

The chief, who also serves as a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), applauded both Bawumia and Opoku Prempeh for their strong work ethic and results-driven leadership, which he believes will greatly benefit the country.

“We are all aware of the outstanding work of Dr Bawumia as Vice President and the achievements of NAPO as a Minister in this government. I have absolute confidence in them and firmly believe that if Ghanaians trust these two great leaders, we will never regret it,” he said.

The paramount chief made these comments during a courtesy call at his palace on Friday (6 September) when Napo visited with his campaign team while touring the Central Region.

The NPP’s vice-presidential candidate was accompanied by key figures such as Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, chairman Danquah Smith Buttey and Henry Nana Boakye.

Opoku Prempeh visited constituencies including Assin North, Assin Central and Abura Asebu Kwamankese.

During his visit, Napo highlighted the NPP’s key achievements, focusing on infrastructure projects and the Free SHS initiative.

He assured the chiefs and people of these areas that a future NPP government, led by Dr. Bawumia, would ensure the continuation and completion of these projects.

He further called for support for both Dr Bawumia and the party’s parliamentary candidates—Charles Opoku for Assin North, Godfred Nti Anawu for Assin Central, and Kobin Eric Nyanteh for Asebu Kwamankese—urging unity for a resounding victory in the upcoming elections.
