Under the brilliant August sun at the Emirates, Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with an impressive 2-0 win against Wolves.
The outcome was expected given Arsenal’s recent strong performances at home, but the game still delivered excitement, even though some of their passing grew a bit sloppy towards the end.
The first goal came from Kai Havertz, who perfectly timed his run to head in a superb cross from Bukayo Saka.
The Wolves had a chance to equalise, but David Raya made a stunning save to keep the score level. Saka then added another goal 16 minutes before the final whistle. Havertz provided the assist, setting up Saka to curl a left-footed shot into the corner of the net.
After the match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was pleased, particularly with how his team performed in the first half.
“We played with great intensity, aggression and purpose, creating many opportunities,” Arteta commented.
“We could have scored more, which would have made the game more comfortable.”
